The results of a recent survey carried out in the school are given below. These results display the sheer numbers of pupils attending Ballygarrett National school who wish to attend Gorey Community School. Of the surveys returned by the current 6th class (leaving in 2005) 100% wished to attend Gorey. Of these pupils, 11 will be denied access to their choice of education by the decisions of Gorey Community School and the Department of Education and Science.

5 families have expressed the opinion that they would actually consider moving from the area in order to get the education theu wish for their children. 13 would have chosen a different National School for their children and 11 are considering moving their children to a different school. In total 45 pupils may be moved from the local national school as a direct result of this outrageous move. That's a staggering 55.56% of those who replied. Over 22% of respondents said they would consider moving house and 58% said they would consider a different national school.
